6LACK (pronounced 'black') is American R&B singer-songwriter Ricardo Valdez Valentine Jr., born June 24, 1992 in Baltimore and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He broke through with his debut album 'Free 6LACK' (2016) and the single 'PRBLMS' - both Grammy-nominated - then followed up with 'East Atlanta Love Letter' (2018), which peaked at number three on the Billboard 200. His music weaves dark R&B with rap and candid lyrics about love, vulnerability and personal growth, drawing collaborators such as J. Cole, Khalid and Young Thug. His fourth album, 'Love Is the New Gangsta', arrived in May 2026 via LVRN and Interscope Records.
