About

Gasolin' were a Danish rock band from Christianshavn, Copenhagen, formed in 1969 by Kim Larsen, Franz Beckerlee and Wili Jønsson, with Søren Berlev joining as drummer in 1971. Between 1972 and their break-up in 1978 they were Denmark's most popular rock band, often compared to The Beatles in terms of cultural impact. Frontman Kim Larsen went on to a hugely successful solo career, and his 1983 album 'Midt om natten' remains the best-selling album in Danish history.

    The RAGNAROCK museum opened the special exhibition 'Come with Me! - Gasolin' 1969-78' with an accompanying program of events, including a screening of Anders Østergaard's documentary film from 2006.

    The documentary film 'Gasolin'' by Anders Østergaard broke all records for Danish documentary films in cinemas with almost 95,000 sold tickets.

    The box set 'The Black Box' with Gasolin's complete discography was released and became a major sales success in Denmark.
