Hanne Boel is a Danish singer-songwriter born on 31 August 1957 in Bagsværd, with a career spanning more than five decades and 22 albums. She broke through with her debut Black Wolf in 1988, then cemented her reputation with Dark Passion (1990), which won four Danish Music Awards and sold over half a million copies worldwide. Her voice moves freely across soul, R&B, jazz and pop, and she has sold more than 2.5 million records across Scandinavia. Between 2009 and 2017 she also served as professor and vice-rector at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen.
