Henrik Chaim Goldschmidt (born 1959) served as principal oboist of the Royal Danish Orchestra from 1986 to 2022 and is considered one of Denmark's most prominent classical musicians. Trained at the Funen Music Conservatory and the Karajan Academy in West Berlin, he also played with the Berlin Philharmonic and the Hamburg Philharmonic State Orchestra. In 2003 he founded the Middle East Peace Orchestra, bringing together Jewish, Christian and Muslim musicians across cultural and religious divides, and in 2011 he established Goldschmidts Musikakademi, a free music school for children in vulnerable circumstances in Copenhagen and Aalborg.
The narrative concert 'The Flight' with Henrik Goldschmidt, soprano Inger Dam-Jensen and Anders Singh Vesterdahl was broadcast on DR P2 on August 20, 2025 following a performance on Ærø on August 13.
