Holmens Vokalensemble is a professional Danish vocal ensemble founded in 2005, based at Holmens Kirke in Copenhagen. Its ten singers are drawn from Holmens Kantori and specialise in early vocal polyphony - Byrd, Schütz, Buxtehude, Bach and their contemporaries - as well as other repertoire calling for a lean, pure choral sound. The ensemble is directed by Jakob Lorentzen, organist and cantor at Holmens Kirke since 1997, and has released several recordings of church music and Danish songs.
Holmens Vokalensemble returns to Viborg Teater with a new Christmas concert in 2025 together with opera singer Jens-Christian Wandt and pianist Jakob Lorentzen.
The album Danish Choral Music with Holmens Vokalensemble and Holmens Kantori under Jakob Lorentzen was released in 2023.
