About the venue
Holmens Kirke is one of Copenhagen's oldest churches, founded by Christian IV in 1619 as the church of the Royal Danish Navy. It sits beside Holmens Kanal, close to Christiansborg, and has hosted major state occasions over the centuries - including Queen Margrethe II's wedding in 1967. Today it serves as a parish church and a venue for concerts and ceremonies.
