Jens Christian Grøndahl is a Danish author born on 9 November 1959 in Lyngby, who trained as a film director at the National Danish Film School before turning to fiction. His debut novel appeared in 1985, and he has since published more than 40 books - novels, essays, children's books and plays - read as widely in France, the Netherlands and Belgium as in Denmark.
