LUNA SOUL is a German-Spanish retro-pop duo formed in 2019 by vocalist Lisa Michèle Lietz from Schwerin and guitarist-songwriter Jordi Arnau Rubio from Barcelona. Lietz studied musicology and learned guitar from Ernst Ulrich Deuker, bassist of German NDW legends Ideal, while Rubio left Spain as a teenager to pursue a career as a professional dancer across Europe. Their sound weaves disco grooves, analogue synths and soulful vocals into a palette drawn from the 1970s and 80s. Debut album First Move was released in April 2025 on Légère Recordings, produced by Joel Sarakula, and the duo plays over 50 live dates a year across Germany, France, Spain, the Netherlands and Denmark.
