Omrum
Omrum is a Danish-Norwegian quartet without hierarchy, where four musicians meet as equals. Their debut album was nominated for the German Jazz Prize, and at this concert they play material from both records.
Mads Hyhne is a Danish trombonist based in Copenhagen, active across a wide range of projects - from the collective quartet Omrum to collaborations with Maria Faust Sacrum Facere and Bugpowder. In Omrum, which he shares with trumpeter Erik Kimestad, bassist Richard Andersson and drummer Jakob Høyer, there is no hierarchy: the music moves freely between composition and improvisation. The quartet's debut album Bringer of Light on Hobby Horse Records came out in November 2025 and was nominated for the German Jazz Prize.
Omrum's debut album Bringer of Light was released on November 13, 2025 on Hobby Horse Records, recorded on the island of Møn in a converted barn.
All About Jazz published a review of Bringer of Light in January 2026, highlighting the chemistry between Hyhne and trumpeter Erik Kimestad.
Mads Hyhne participated in Maria Faust's new quintet project The Ecomosists, recorded in Tallinn in January 2025.
