Zinssou Quartet, winners of the Jazz Competition, blend classical music, neo-soul, and modern jazz with piano and cello leading. Dynamic and intuitive live music featuring both powerful and intimate moments.
Maiken Thunbo is a Danish cellist who moves between jazz, chamber music and neo-soul. She is the cellist in Zinssou Quartet - a group with piano and cello at the forefront, drawing on Nordic music, classical chamber music and expressive New York jazz - which won Jazzkonkurrencen 2025 in front of a record-breaking audience in Kolding. Alongside the quartet, she performs live with artists including Østen and Carlina de Place.
Zinssou Quartet was presented on the German radio channel Bremen Zwei in May 2026, and the quartet simultaneously announced its upcoming debut album 'Til dem der håber' for autumn 2026.
Maiken Thunbo performs as live cellist for Østen at Bloom Festival in March 2026.
Zinssou Quartet won the Jazz Competition 2025 in front of a record audience at Godset in Kolding on May 23, 2025.
Maiken Thunbo played cello on Østen's largest tour to date in April 2025, including at Train in Aarhus and VEGA in Copenhagen.
Maiken Thunbo performed as live cellist for Carlina de Place at her first solo concerts in November 2025 in Copenhagen and Aarhus.
