G.F. Handel: Messiah with Mogens Dahl Chamber Choir
Mogens Dahl Chamber Choir performs Handel's classical Messiah at the historic Holmens Church by Nyhavn.
Mogens Dahl Kammerkor is a professional vocal ensemble founded in Copenhagen in 2005 by conductor Mogens Dahl. Drawing on a pool of up to 40 classically trained singers from across the Nordic countries, the choir adapts its line-up to each individual project. Its artistic focus lies in Nordic and Romantic choral music, and it has given world premieres of major works written for the ensemble - among them Sven-David Sandström's Nordic Mass (Bergen, 2014) and The Passion of St. John (Konzerthaus Berlin, 2016). Every December the choir performs Handel's Messiah at Holmens Kirke alongside the British period ensemble Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.
The choir performs on October 15, 2026 in Holmens Church with the program 'The Universe of the Nordic Mind', which includes the Danish premiere of Missy Mazzoli's Year of our Burning.
The choir performs Handel's Messiah in Holmens Church on December 11 and 12, 2026 together with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.
The autumn season 2026 marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Mogens Dahl Chamber Choir and Mogens Dahl Concert Hall.
The Swedish composer Per Gunnar Petersson is Composer in Residence with the choir in the current season and premieres the choral piece Madrigal.
The choir held an All Saints' Concert in Hans Tausen Church in Copenhagen on November 2, 2025.
