Mother's Finest is an American funk rock band from Atlanta, Georgia, founded in the early 1970s by the vocal duo Joyce "Baby Jean" Kennedy and Glenn "Doc" Murdock. Described by Classic Rock magazine as "Sly and the Family Stone meets Led Zeppelin," the band broke new ground as a racially mixed hard rock act at a time when that was virtually unheard of. Their albums from 1976 to 1979 were all certified gold, and they built a reputation for blowing away the headliners they opened for - including Aerosmith, AC/DC and Black Sabbath. In 2011 they were inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame.
Mother's Finest released the single "Don't Stop" in 2026 - their first new studio release in many years.
The band completed a European summer tour in August 2026 with concerts in, among others, Berlin and Nuremberg.
Mother's Finest performed in July 2026 at a number of German venues, including Bonn, Bochum, Münster and Aschaffenburg.
The band performed in Hamburg in July 2025 as part of a European tour.
Mother's Finest was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame on September 16, 2011 with a Group Award.
