Kill-Town Death Fest XI: Stages of Decay
A four-day death metal festival featuring 38 international bands, exclusive performances, and merchandise at Copenhagen's Pumpehuset.
Murder Squad is a Swedish death metal outfit formed in Stockholm in the early 1990s by Matti Kärki and Richard Cabeza of Dismember alongside Uffe Cederlund and Peter Stjärnvind of Entombed. Heavily influenced by Autopsy, the band built a cult following with two albums of raw, uncompromising death metal: "Unsane, Insane and Mentally Deranged" (2001) and "Ravenous, Murderous" (2003), the latter featuring Autopsy's Chris Reifert as a guest. After years of inactivity the band reunited in 2025 and is working on new music.
Murder Squad performs at Kill-Town Death Fest XI (3-6 September 2026) at Pumpehuset in Copenhagen as part of a lineup with 38 international death metal bands.
Darkness Shall Rise Productions reissues the band's Autopsy cover EP "Human Genocide / Blackness Within" on vinyl on 24 August 2026.
Both of the band's studio albums are reissued in 2026 via Darkness Shall Rise Productions on vinyl and CD with expanded booklet.
Murder Squad is confirmed for Obscene Extreme Festival 2026 in Czech Republic - the band's first ever performance in the country.
Murder Squad reunited in 2025 and returned to the live scene with plans for new music.
