My Beautiful Decay 1973 is the artist name of Danish composer and multi-instrumentalist Carsten Bo Eriksen, born in Copenhagen in 1973. He graduated with highest honours from the Royal Danish Academy of Music, studying under Hans Abrahamsen and Ib Nørholm among others, and also attended Berklee College of Music in Massachusetts. His music moves between neoclassical chamber writing, ambient electronics and electroacoustic soundscapes, drawing comparisons to Ólafur Arnalds and Max Richter. In 2025 he received his first gold streaming certificate under this name.
