Omrum
Omrum is a Danish-Norwegian quartet without hierarchy, where four musicians meet as equals. Their debut album was nominated for the German Jazz Prize, and at this concert they play material from both records.
Omrum is a collective jazz quartet from the Copenhagen scene, built around four equal voices: trumpeter Erik Kimestad (Norway), trombonist Mads Hyhne, bassist Richard Andersson, and drummer Jakob Høyer. The name is an invented word pointing to the physical and sonic space the music inhabits. Their debut album Bringer of Light (Hobby Horse Records, November 2025) earned a nomination for the German Jazz Prize in the best international debut category.
The quartet went to the island of Aarø at the end of April 2026 to record new material in Mads Hyhne's summer house - the release is planned for the beginning of 2027.
Omrum released the single "I can't believe that you're in love with me" on 16 January 2026 on Hobby Horse Records, recorded at Karmacrew Recording in January 2025.
The debut album Bringer of Light was released on 13 November 2025 on Hobby Horse Records and received reviews in, among others, All About Jazz and Jazz Views.
Omrum performed at Christiania Jazz Club on 1 November 2025 as part of Spil Dansk week, supported by Koda Kultur.
