Writing Workshop at Dokk1 - Text in Time
Weekly writing workshop led by author P.C. Asmussen where participants write, read aloud, and give each other constructive feedback without judgment or pressure.
P.C. (Poul Christian) Asmussen, born 1952 in Virum, is an Aarhus-based author, self-taught street performer and social educator. He founded Gøglerskolen (the Juggler School) in Aarhus in 1989 together with Aarhus Municipality and ran it as 'circus director' until 2019, growing it into a production school with around 200 students. His debut novel *Venskab på livstid - en røverhistorie* (2019) was nominated for the year's debut prize; his second book, *Barndommens hav* (2024), draws on his childhood in the coastal town of Juelsminde.
P.C. Asmussen continues to lead the weekly open writing workshop 'Tekst til Tiden' at Dokk1 in Aarhus, with sessions planned through October 2026.
In autumn 2026, Asmussen also teaches at Gellerup Library, where the writing workshop 'Tekst til Tiden' runs from 18 August to 15 December.
Asmussen read from *Barndommens hav* at Juelsminde Library on 6 February 2025.
Asmussen appeared at a joint event on Litteraturen.nu, where he and author Anders Johansen read and discussed childhood.
Asmussen received the Underground Poetry Prize 2023 from Poetklub Århus.
