Peter Lodahl (born 7 January 1974 in Herning) is a Danish lyric tenor trained at the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus and the Opera Academy in Copenhagen. Since joining the Royal Danish Opera as a soloist in 2009, he has built an international career spanning stages from the Musikverein in Vienna to the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, with signature roles including Rodolfo in La bohème opposite Anna Netrebko and the title role in the European premiere of John Harbison's The Great Gatsby at Semperoper Dresden. Beyond performing, he has served as festival director of the Copenhagen Opera Festival (2016-2019), music director of the Copenhagen Philharmonic (2019-2024), and is now spokesman for the newly launched Daphne Awards.
Peter Lodahl was the spokesperson for the first Daphne Awards ceremony, which took place on May 14, 2026 at Tivoli Concert Hall in Copenhagen, where pianist Lang Lang received the opening prize.
Daphne Awards - the new international cultural prize for which Lodahl is the spokesperson - was announced in November 2025 with a prize pool of approximately 850,000 euros.
In the 2024/25 season, Lodahl made his debut in the roles of Cavaradossi in Tosca and Dick Johnson in La Fanciulla del West and performed on concert stages in Mexico, China and Europe.
Lodahl concluded his tenure as music director of Copenhagen Phil, a position he had held since 2019.
Lodahl's performance with Christian Jost's newly composed Dichterliebe at the OPUS Klassik Awards 2020 earned him nominations in the categories 'Singer of the Year' and 'Best Art Song Recording'.
