Præst Vinther Duo

About

Præst Vinther Duo is a Danish folk music duo formed by clarinettist Anja Præst Mikkelsen and accordionist Jesper Vinther, both conservatory-trained musicians and long-standing members of the acclaimed ensemble Phønix. Anja, from Zealand, holds the title of rigsspillemand in the tradition of Gunnar Jensen from Skælskør, while Jesper grew up in Vejle surrounded by folk dance from an early age. Their repertoire draws on Danish fiddle music - especially from West Zealand and the Vejle area - played with the close, intuitive rapport they have built over years of collaboration.
