Preben Elkjær (born 11 September 1957) is a Danish football legend who ranked among the world's most feared strikers throughout the 1980s. He earned 69 caps for Denmark, scoring 38 goals, and was a central figure in the celebrated 'Danish Dynamite' side coached by Sepp Piontek. At Hellas Verona he helped the club win its first and only Italian league title in 1985, and he finished second in the Ballon d'Or that year, behind only Michel Platini. Today he works as a speaker and television pundit.
