Purpendicular feat. Ian Paice - 20th Anniversary
Purpendicular feat. Ian Paice marks two decades with an anniversary tour at Borreby Gods & Teater, celebrating their Deep Purple-inspired sound.
Purpendicular was founded in October 2007 by Irish vocalist Robby Thomas Walsh, initially as a Deep Purple tribute act, before reinventing itself as an original band from 2019 onward. The lineup features Deep Purple's founding drummer Ian Paice, guitarist Murray Gould (a veteran of sessions with Eric Clapton and Joe Bonamassa) and former Jamiroquai bassist Nick Fyffe. Four studio albums and nearly two decades of European touring have established the band as a credible force in hard rock on its own terms.
Purpendicular feat. Ian Paice released their fourth studio album 'Banned' on October 10, 2025 via Metalville Records.
The band toured in Denmark in September 2025 with stops in, among others, Aarhus, Horsholm, Kolding, Borreby and Greve as part of 'The Banned European Tour 2025'.
'The Banned European Tour 2026' brought the band to, among others, Verviers, Herford and Utrecht in early 2026.
The album 'Banned' was created under dramatic circumstances: the band had to be evacuated from a villa in the mountains near Porto, Portugal, when severe forest fires broke out during the recording session in summer 2024.
Robby Thomas Walsh confirmed in an interview that the band plans to start writing a new album in summer 2026.
