Ray Cooper, known to folk audiences as Chopper, is a British singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who spent nearly 25 years as cellist and bassist with Oysterband before going solo in 2013. Based in rural Sweden, he draws on folk, Americana and Scandinavian traditions across five solo albums. He has since toured extensively across Europe, Canada and the UK, and now performs as part of the John Jones Trio alongside John Jones and Al Scott.
