Metal Night X Red Warszawa
Metal Night at Richter with the Polish band Red Warszawa. An evening of metal and rock for fans of heavier music.
Red Warszawa is a Danish heavy metal and punk band from Ballerup, founded in 1986 by "Lækre" Jens Mondrup and "Heavy" Henning Nymand after a teacher played them a Polish punk record in class. Over four decades they built a devoted cult following in Denmark, driven by satirical Danish-language lyrics and a live show that deliberately pushes boundaries. The band name is a deliberate half-joke: "red" is English for the colour, while "Warszawa" is the Danish/Polish spelling of Warsaw - and since "red" in Danish means "save", many Danes initially mistook them for a charity like Save the Children.
"Lækre" Jens Mondrup, who was involved in founding the band in 1986, left Red Warszawa in 2025 after 39 years - the farewell took place in a good way, and the last joint concert took place at Amager Dio.
Red Warszawa is in autumn 2026 on tour with the performance "Gandalf og Dildo", which the band describes as total theater at a number of venues in Denmark and surrounding areas.
The band plays, among other places, in Flensburg on 19 September 2026 as part of the autumn tour.
Red Warszawa is booked at Tapperiet in Køge on 21 November 2026.
