Handel's Messiah
Mogens Dahl's Chamber Choir and The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment perform Handel's beloved Christmas masterpiece with soloists Elsa Benoit, Cecilia Hall, Robin Tritschler and Domenic Barberi.
Robin Tritschler is an Irish tenor from County Wicklow, trained at the Royal Irish Academy of Music and the Royal Academy of Music in London. A former BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist (2012-2014), he has built a wide international career as a soloist with orchestras including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Concertgebouw Orchestra and the Bavarian Radio Symphony. Gramophone has praised his "mellifluous tone" and "impeccable diction", and he is particularly sought after in oratorio, song recital and early music.
Tritschler performs as soloist in Elgar's The Dream of Gerontius with Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra under Cristian Măcelaru on 5-6 November 2026.
In the 2026/27 season, Tritschler sings Handel's Messiah with Mogens Dahl Chamber Choir and Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment in Copenhagen and Viborg.
Oxford Song updated in June 2026 Tritschler's profile with a long list of upcoming engagements, including Britten's St Nicolas with Royal Stockholm Philharmonic and Schubert's Mass in E-flat with Scottish Chamber Orchestra.
The album Songs for Peter Pears with pianist Malcolm Martineau was released on Signum Classics in June 2024 and reached classical bestseller lists that same summer.
In the 2023/24 season, Tritschler made his debut with London Symphony Orchestra under Nathalie Stutzmann in Bruckner's Te Deum and sang the St Matthew Passion with Collegium Vocale 1704 at Bachfest.
