Seonaid Aitken (pronounced "Shona") is a Scottish violinist, vocalist, composer and orchestrator from Glenrothes, Fife, trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. She fronts the award-winning gypsy jazz band Rose Room and is one of the few female improvising violinists in the UK. Twice named Best Vocalist at the Scottish Jazz Awards, she has collaborated with artists including Eddi Reader, Martin Taylor and Burt Bacharach, and spent over two decades as a regular player with the Orchestra of Scottish Opera.
