Shekufe Tadayoni Heiberg (born 1987 in Tehran) is a Danish-Iranian author, translator, publisher and lecturer who has published twelve books since her 2016 debut, ranging from poetry collections to speculative fiction and children's books. Her writing centres on ecology, climate, identity and the Persian literary tradition, and she founded Forlaget Uro, a small press with an ecofeminist profile. She also translates Persian fiction and poetry into Danish, and gives lectures on Iranian poetry as a form of resistance.
Heiberg is current with the sonnet sequence 'Grundsten' (Forlaget Uro, December 2025), which examines the relationship between basic research, art and nature, and she is mentioned in Information in February 2026.
The English translation of 'Plantae Sapiens' was published by Guillemot Press on December 9, 2025; translator Hazel Evans won the John Dryden Translation Prize 2025 for the work.
Heiberg participated in the Folkemødet on Bornholm in June 2025 with two talks: one about the importance of art for democracy and one about spiritual resilience.
VELUX FONDEN awarded Heiberg in December 2024 a two-year work grant as writer-in-residence at the Institute for Communication and Humanistic Science at Roskilde University.
In 2025, three new books were published: the children's book 'Til Citron' (April), the sci-fi novel 'Støv & spind' (June) and the sonnet sequence 'Grundsten' (December).
