All Day Hardcore Madness: Sidestep, Taunt, Knytnæve, Decade, Reality Unfolds, Bitter, Godless
All-day hardcore festival at Basement featuring seven bands including Sidestep, Taunt, Knytnæve, Decade, Reality Unfolds, Bitter, and Godless.
Sidestep are a hardcore band from Gothenburg, Sweden, formed in 2019, who quickly became a fixture of the city's DIY scene. Half the band helps run shows through the Moral Panic Records collective, which has been central to building Gothenburg's hardcore infrastructure. Their 2024 self-titled debut LP, co-released by Static Era Records and Monument HQ, and the 2026 EP Heavy Head // Weak World have drawn attention well beyond Sweden.
Sidestep is confirmed as support on a European tour in November 2026 with Combust and SPY, with stops in Munich, Berlin, Antwerp and Paris.
The band released the EP *Heavy Head // Weak World* with four tracks, including a cover of Totalitär's 'Sin Egen Motståndare'.
Vocalist Hugo Sundberg confirmed to No Echo that the band is working on their second LP and is deliberately keeping tour activity down in 2026 to prioritize recording.
Sidestep's self-titled debut album with 15 tracks was released via Static Era Records and Monument HQ and was co-produced by Ulf Blomberg and Brad Boatright.
DIY Conspiracy highlighted the debut album as one of the strongest Swedish hardcore releases in recent times and described it as 'a fully-formed and confident blast of groove-heavy hardcore'.
