Sigurdís Tryggvadóttir is an Icelandic composer, pianist and vocalist based in Denmark. Her music draws on jazz, classical piano and Icelandic folk traditions, and her debut album 'Bergmál fjallanna' (Echo of the Mountains) weaves her own compositions together with poems and songs by her great-great-uncle Jónas Tryggvason, rooted in their shared homeland in northwest Iceland.
