Simon Linnert is a Danish jazz pianist and composer, best known for his trio work with bassist Richard Andersson and drummer Allan Mednard. Together they released the album "Sayeh" on Hobby Horse Records in June 2025, built on calm, clear playing rather than virtuosic display. Linnert spent several years living in the United States, where he studied with Jason Moran and Sophia Rosoff and performed alongside musicians such as Kenny Wollesen and Tony Scherr, and today works within a Nordic, ECM-inflected sound rooted in both European and American jazz traditions.
Trion's album "Sayeh" was released on June 13, 2025 on the record label Hobby Horse Records.
On July 10, 2025, Simon Linnert Trio performed a concert with Spanish drummer Jorge Rossy at Christiania Jazz Club in Copenhagen.
The British magazine Jazz Journal described in July 2025 Linnert's playing on "Sayeh" as restrained and full of self-control.
The American Jazz Weekly compared in June 2025 the trio's ECM sound with Bobo Stenson and Tord Gustavsen.
