About

Snorre Kirk is a Norwegian-born drummer and composer who grew up in Denmark and has become one of Scandinavia's most in-demand jazz bandleaders. He studied at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen under Ed Thigpen, and has released eight albums as a leader on the Danish label Stunt Records. Rooted in the swing tradition of Ellington and Basie, his music carries a distinctly personal voice - recognised in 2025 when his eighth album 'What a Day!' (2024) won the Jazz Heritage prize at France's Académie du Jazz.
