Tangoforeningen

About

Tangoforeningen is a Copenhagen-based association founded on 3 October 1998 with the aim of spreading Argentine tango - both the dance and the music. It organises milongas, introductory courses and outdoor dance evenings, and works with cultural centres in Copenhagen and Frederiksberg. The association also runs a tango calendar and publishes the newsletter Tangotidende.

Tangoforeningen participates again in Sommerdans in Fælledparken 2026 in collaboration with Copenhagen Municipality with tango evenings on June 24, July 1 and July 15.

The association's annual membership fee is set to 260 kr. in 2026 and follows the calendar year.

On December 11, 2024 - on International Tango Day - Tangoforeningen celebrated its 25th anniversary with a reception and milonga at Copenhagen City Hall.

Tangoforeningen held tango summer evenings in Fælledparken in June and July 2025 in collaboration with Sommerdans and Copenhagen Municipality.

Tango Urquiza and Tangoforeningen have collaborated in recent years on outdoor tango on the dance stage in front of Kulturhuset Islands Brygge.
