Terri Lyne Carrington is an American drummer, producer, and four-time Grammy winner from Medford, Massachusetts. A child prodigy who performed with Clark Terry at age ten, she has since recorded on more than 100 albums alongside Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, and Stan Getz. Her 2013 album Money Jungle: Provocative in Blue made her the first woman to win a Grammy for Best Jazz Instrumental Album, and she founded the Berklee Institute of Jazz and Gender Justice in Boston.
Terri Lyne Carrington + Social Science released the album Trip the Night Fantastic on July 31, 2026 on Candid Records - a 13-track project featuring guests such as Fatoumata Diawara, Ledisi and Arooj Aftab.
