The Bones of J.R. Jones is an American roots project by singer, guitarist, and songwriter Jonathon Robert Linaberry, born in 1982 in central New York. He launched the project in 2012 after years in punk and hardcore bands, drawing inspiration from Alan Lomax's field recordings of blues, folk, and gospel. A fully independent artist, he has released six studio albums and placed his music in TV series including True Detective, Suits, and Daredevil - all while touring as a one-man band, playing guitar or banjo while simultaneously stomping a modified drum kit.
