Thulcandra is a German black/death metal band from Munich, founded by Steffen Kummerer, also known from Obscura. The band debuted in 2010 with the album "Fallen Angel's Dominion" and has since released "Ascension Lost" (2015), "A Dying Wish" (2021) and "Hail the Abyss" (2023) on Napalm Records. Their sound draws heavily on the melodic Scandinavian black/death style of the early 1990s, citing Dissection and Sacramentum as key influences.
Thulcandra released the EP "Black Sun Aeon" digitally for the first time, after previously only being available as a limited vinyl single from 2023.
The band announced a European headliner tour called "In The Light Of Darkness" for spring 2027 with support from Yoth Iria and Vorga, with a stop in Copenhagen.
Thulcandra is going on an extensive Mexico tour in October 2026 as support for Obscura under their "A Sonication World Tour".
The band played its first ever Asia tour in July 2025 with concerts in, among others, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia.
In January 2025, Thulcandra completed a co-headline European tour together with Swedish Sacramentum and Dutch Nephylim.
