Thulcandra + Yoth Iria live: Wednesday 17 March 2027, 19:30–23:59, Spillestedet Stengade, Copenhagen. Tickets cost 195 kr.
On 17 March, Thulcandra, Yoth Iria and Vorga take the stage at Stengade - three bands each with their own take on black metal.
Thulcandra hails from Germany and released their debut album "Fallen Angel's Dominion" in 2010. The band was founded by Steffen Kummerer (also known from Obscura) and has since refined their blackened death metal style through the albums "Under a Frozen Sun" (2011), "Ascension Lost" (2015) and "A Dying Wish" (2021) - the latter dedicated to deceased bassist Chris Kratzer. Their fifth album, "Hail the Abyss", was released on 19 May 2023 via Napalm Records, mixed by producer Dan Swanö (known from Dissection, Opeth and Katatonia) with cover art by Lochner. Among the tracks are "As I Walk Through The Gateway", "Blood Of Slaves" and the title track "Hail the Abyss" plus "On The Wings Of Cosmic Fire".
Special guest Yoth Iria was founded by Jim Mutilator, founding bassist of Rotting Christ and Varathron, together with The Magus (Necromantia, Thou Art Lord, formerly Rotting Christ). The band debuted in 2020 with the EP "Under His Sway" and followed up with their first album "As the Flame Withers" in 2021. Since then came the EP "Flame of the Whirling Swords" (2023), the album "Blazing Inferno" (2024, Edge Circle Productions) with tracks such as "We Call Upon the Elements" and "In the Tongue of Birds", plus the singles "Splendour of the Sun" and a cover version of Emperor's "The Wanderer". Yoth Iria has also released the live recording "Embracing the Mexican Shadows" from a concert in Mexico City in 2023, and the band has played festivals including Hellfest, Alcatraz, Summer Breeze and Party San Open Air.
Support for the evening comes from German band Vorga.
