Tove in Tones
A cappella vocal ensemble FIRE celebrates Danish author Tove Ditlevsen's jubilee with a concert blending her texts as four-part songs and readings from her advice columns.
VokalSelskabet FIRE is a Danish a cappella quartet made up of Julie Borgwardt-Stampe, Katrin Helene Kuslap, Mia Bergström and Kristine Gether - all of them working singers in the DR Concert Choir and the Royal Opera Chorus. The group performs four-part vocal music and is known for moving through the performance space during concerts, surrounding the audience with sound. Their current programme, 'Tove i Toner', sets texts by Tove Ditlevsen to a cappella music to mark the 50th anniversary of the poet's death.
VokalSelskabet FIRE performs 'Tove i Toner' at Kristkirken in Copenhagen on September 13, 2026.
The quartet performs 'Tove i Toner' in Aabenraa on August 20, 2026, arranged by Aabenraa Kunst- og Musikforening.
The program 'Tove i Toner' consists of 10-15 a cappella works by various composers, interwoven with readings from Tove Ditlevsen's advice column letters.
