Walt Weiskopf European Quartet

About

Walt Weiskopf European Quartet is a post-bop ensemble formed in 2017 by American tenor saxophonist Walt Weiskopf alongside three Danish musicians: pianist Carl Winther, bassist Andreas Lang, and drummer Anders Mogensen. Weiskopf, born in Augusta, Georgia, launched his career with the Buddy Rich Big Band in 1981 and has since recorded and toured with Steely Dan and Frank Sinatra, releasing more than 25 albums as a leader. The quartet records for AMM Records and tours regularly across Europe and North America, drawing on Weiskopf's original compositions.
