Yerai Cortés
Rising flamenco star Yerai Cortés performs an intimate solo concert at Alice.
Yerai Cortés (born 1995 in Alicante) is a Spanish flamenco guitarist, son of guitarist Ramón el Portugués. He gained wide international attention through the 2024 documentary "The Flamenco Guitar of Yerai Cortés", directed by C. Tangana, which won Goya Awards for Best Documentary and Best Original Song. In 2025 he became the first flamenco guitarist ever nominated for a Latin Grammy in the Best New Artist category. He usually performs solo or in small ensembles built around his virtuosic guitar playing.
Yerai Cortés released his second album "Popular", which expands the boundaries of flamenco with six female voices, hand clapping and body percussion around the guitar.
He was nominated for a Latin Grammy for Best New Artist at the 26th awards ceremony, but the prize went to Paloma Morphy.
The documentary about him won two Goya Awards, for best documentary and best original song "Los Almendros".
He performed at Roskilde Festival on July 2 with his show, which blends guitar and vocals in a modern flamenco ritual.
He is booked for an intimate solo concert at the venue ALICE in Copenhagen on November 2 and 3 in connection with the album "Popular".
