Zinssou Quartet is a Danish jazz ensemble built around pianist and composer Carl Zinssou, cellist Maiken Thunbo, double bassist Elias Hvidtfeldt and drummer Lasse Gerup. The group draws on chamber music, Nordic folk traditions and contemporary New York jazz, and released their debut EP "Et ungdomstestamente" alongside the single "Budapest". In May 2025 they won Jazzkonkurrencen - Denmark's leading talent competition for young jazz musicians - in front of a record-breaking crowd at Godset in Kolding. Their live sets are marked by a wide dynamic range, shifting between forceful, driving passages and quiet, intimate moments.
Zinssou Quartet performs at Jazz6000 in Kolding as the opening act for American pianist Aaron Parks, and the band announces its first full album for release in 2026.
