Autumn Day - Sheep and Field Work
Autumn celebration at Herregården Hessel featuring field ploughing, sheep products, and traditional farmyard crafts. Free for children, 120 kr. for adults.
Hessel manor near Hvalpsund is first recorded in 1391 and is considered Denmark's last fully thatched, four-winged manor house. Most of the buildings date from the 18th century, while the barn goes back to the 17th. Today it operates as a living cultural-history museum depicting rural life in the 1800s - with dairy cattle grazing the fields, heritage grain varieties under cultivation, and volunteers demonstrating traditional crafts such as blacksmithing, wood-turning and rope-making.
