About the venue

Karmeliterklostret - also known as Vor Frue Kloster or Sct. Mariæ Kloster - was founded in 1430 when King Erik of Pomerania donated a plot of land in Helsingør to the Carmelite order. The four-winged complex is listed and considered the best-preserved monastery in Scandinavia. The north wing's Lazarussalen stands out for its rare 16th-century frescoes depicting biblical scenes. Guided tours of the monastery can be booked through the church office.
