Lecture with Jesper Bugge Kold

Historian Jesper Bugge Kold presents a lecture based on his trilogy about Johanne and Danish emigrants - the story of the 300,000 Danes who left Denmark from 1850 onwards.

The lecture explores hope, loss, and new beginnings. Kold draws on letters from 1879 written by one of his own relatives, through which he portrays courage, dreams, and identity.
