Bach Christmas Oratorio (Cantatas I, II, IV & V)

Copenhagen Cantata Choir performs Bach's Christmas Oratorio - cantatas I, II, IV & V in December. The work was composed for the Christmas days of 1734-1735, when Bach was cantor at St. Thomas Church in Leipzig. It is not actually an oratorio, but a cycle of six cantatas, and the choir performs four of them at concerts in Store Magleby Church and Bagsværd Church.

The choir is conducted by Torben H.S. Svendsen. The soloists are Nina Bols Lundgren (soprano), Laura Hilden (alto), Tyler Ray (tenor) and Asmus Hanke (bass).

Concerts: Store Magleby Church, Sunday 20 December at 16:00 - Bagsværd Church, Tuesday 22 December at 19:30. Duration: 2 hours including intermission.
