MOLDE - Acoustic Folk Music in Kultursalen

MOLDE is a five-piece band that plays with a single shared microphone in the center of the stage. Rather than each musician having their own mic, they stand in a semicircle and balance the sound by stepping closer or further away - Louise Ring Vangsgaard on violin, Henrik Kunz on double bass, and the others. This technique, borrowed from American stringband tradition, lets the audience hear the instruments as they naturally sound in the room.

The band features Maria Molde on vocals and mandolin, Uffe Holmsgaard Eriksen on guitar and cittern, Louise Ring Vangsgaard on violin, Henrik Kunz on double bass, and Mikkel Bøggild on banjo and dobro. Maria Molde began writing songs after time spent among bluegrass musicians in New York. The instruments are American, but the lyrics are Danish and explore themes of nature, climate, and belonging. Their debut album Jorden Kalder was released in autumn 2025 and has been played on P5, where Jesper Nyborg described the band as something that "could become one of the really big names in Danish americana".

The Augustenborg concert is part of the tour supporting MOLDE's winter single, released in January. Kultursalen is set up with café tables and free seating. Doors open at 19:00, and the concert begins at 20:00 with two 45-minute sets.
