Sønderborg hosts SDB:DOX, the regional edition of CPH:DOX, Denmark's largest documentary film festival. The festival runs from 10 to 19 March 2026 with events in Gråsten, Augustenborg, Nordborg, and Sønderborg.

About the venue: Augustenborg Slotspark

Augustenborg Slotspark stretches down to Augustenborg Fjord and has its roots in the 17th century. Court gardener Johan C. Krafft laid it out as a baroque garden from 1777, and in the early 19th century it was redesigned as a romantic English landscape park. It contains rare and protected trees, historic linden avenues, and the remains of the linden tree that shaded H.C. Andersen during his visits to the palace. Augustiana Kunstpark & Kunsthal occupies the northwestern corner of the park. Access is free around the clock.
