The Mukherjee Development

Kædekassen on Fanø presents a double concert with The Mukherjee Development: Friday, April 23 and Saturday, April 3.

The band is an indie, rock and folk band fronted by Oscar Mukherjee - a Danish/American/Indian musician raised in California, whose English lyrics flow naturally. The other members include musicians with backgrounds in Jonah Blacksmith and Peter Sommer & Tiggerne. GAFFA gave the band five stars and called them "the Danish Coldplay, only better than the original". The Mukherjee Development has played over 150 concerts, including at NorthSide, Tønder Festival and SmukFest, performed live on Go' Morgen Danmark on TV2, and received airplay on DR P4, P5 and P6. Oscar Mukherjee was nominated for a Carl Prize in 2024 as "composer of the year" and has previously won a DMA.

For the concerts, the band presents material from their third album since their debut in 2022 - an album that alternates between Britpop melodies, indie/folk songs and solid rock, with lyrics marked by surrealism and poetic clarity about love, friendship and identity.
