Pykky - Lost in Laundryland

Pykky - Lost in Laundryland is a new performance for children and families created by the company Portmanteau in collaboration with award-winning visual artist Helga Stentzel. The starting point is Stentzel's photographic series Clothing Line Animals, and the performance explores what she calls "Household Surrealism" - a search for magic in everyday objects.

Through optical illusions, clothing and ordinary things are transformed into figures and creatures. The performance blends circus, dance, puppet theatre and new magic, following two friends determined to solve the mystery of the missing socks - an investigation that leads them into a surreal realm with shifting characters and visual surprises.
