The Devil Is in the Details

Bent Hytholm Jensen spent over three decades as a forensic technician in the Danish police and helped solve some of the country's most notorious murder cases. In this lecture, he walks through the toolkit he used in his work: securing evidence from fingerprints, blood, DNA, shoe and tire marks, shell casings, and projectiles.

He shares stories that have stayed with him - including unsolved Danish femicides - and recounts being sent around the world to identify victims after disasters such as the tsunami in Thailand, the Scandinavian Star fire, and war crimes in Rwanda.

Bent Hytholm Jensen is a former deputy chief forensic technician and head of the crime scene unit at the National Forensic Technical Center. In recent years, he has appeared in several true crime documentaries and the podcast series Danish Murder Cases.
