Library Club Café Evening - Louise Lærke: Naturpark Åmosen

As one of the newly appointed directors of Naturpark Åmosen - she took office in 2025 - Louise Lærke gives a lecture on the nature park's past, present and future.

The nature park covers approximately 8,500 hectares on West Zealand and includes large parts of Kalundborg Municipality. Archaeological finds testify to human activity between 5,000 and 11,000 years ago, making the area one of Europe's most important for prehistoric settlements and ritual deposits. The lecture also covers concrete projects under development, including a new nature area and an entrance portal at Skarresø, financed by a 13 million kroner donation from the A.P. Møller and Chastine Mc-Kinney Møller Foundation for General Purposes. An overview of outdoor recreation opportunities in the area is also provided.
