Esben Dalgaard: My Friend Death?
Hovedbiblioteket, Aarhus · 200 kr. · ≈ 27 €
Esben Dalgaard is an actor, presenter, and author living with terminal cancer. This reality has driven him to explore what death truly is and how we as humans can talk about it better.
He has worked on the subject through DR's podcast series "Before We Die" and the TV programme "My Last Gift". In 2024, he received both the Life & Death Prize and the Danish Cancer Society's Honorary Award. Along the way, he has sought answers in Mexico, the Philippines, Japan, and across Denmark.
In this lecture, he shares his experiences with illness, hope, and love, and finding meaning when it is hardest. The tone shifts between seriousness and humour, and his central argument is that life is fragile and precious, and that we can choose every day to live it fully.
The lecture takes place in the Main Hall.
