Library Club Café Evenings - Workshop: Paper Cutting from Recycled Materials

Paper artist Torben Jarlstrøm Clausen leads a workshop based on his project "Recycled People" - paper cuts created from discarded gift wrap and other recycled materials. The project began when he found a box of unused Christmas wrapping paper and chose scissors over the incinerator.

Participants will learn to create new members of the Recycled People collection. The concept has been tested in Japan, where over 300 children, young people and adults took part over the course of a week. Torben Jarlstrøm Clausen has more than 20 years of experience with paper cutting and has exhibited his works at over 110 venues in Denmark, USA and Japan.

The event is part of the Library Club's Café Evenings and takes place in the Green Room, where coffee, tea and pastries are served during the break.
